Privacy Policy

This policy covers Verbal Experiment (Verbex): the Verbex app for iPhone and iPad, the website at verbalexperiment.com, and Verbex Lab Tools. Verbal Experiment and Verbex are products of Multimod Labs LLC ("we").
Your experiments, voice notes, images, and exports stay on your iPhone and are never sent to Verbex. The website uses limited analytics, and purchases are processed by Apple or Stripe/Link as described below.
The Verbex iPhone App
The app does not transmit your experiment content to Verbex. Specifically:
- No account or login required
- No analytics or tracking of your experiments
- No experiment data sent to external servers
- No access by Verbex to your voice notes, photos, or exports
On-Device Processing
- Audio is recorded to a temporary file on your iPhone for on-device transcription. Verbex removes the temporary file after processing. Audio is not kept for playback or uploaded.
- AI formatting runs on-device. Your experiment data never leaves your iPhone.
- Photos you capture stay on your device.
Data Storage
Your experiments, transcribed voice notes with timestamps, and images are stored locally on your iPhone. Saved voice notes contain text and recording metadata, not playable audio recordings. We have no access to this data. If you delete the app, all data is permanently deleted.
Website Analytics and Hosting
The Verbex website is hosted by Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics and PostHog to understand basic traffic, page performance, and intentionally selected interactions such as opening a tool or clicking a purchase button.
These services may receive standard technical information such as the page visited, referring page, browser and device type, approximate location derived from an IP address, and the time of the visit. PostHog automatic click capture and session recording are disabled. Website analytics never include your experiment data, payment-card details, billing address, or the contents of files you download.

Verbex Lab Tools for People and AI Assistants
Verbex Lab Tools are the calculators, template builders, guides and templates on this website. They are also offered to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude through a public API (/api/tools) and an MCP server (/mcp). No account is needed and we do not ask for personal information.
- What the tools receive: only what is needed for the request, such as the numbers and units for a calculation, the text of a reagent label, a search query, or the ID of a guide or template to open.
- How it is used: only to compute that response. Verbex does not store tool inputs or search queries, does not write them to logs, does not use them to train AI models, and does not send them to an AI model; the tools are deterministic code.
- Usage counts: to learn which tools help, Verbex records an anonymous count for each request: the tool or page used, which assistant or crawler made it (for example ChatGPT, Claude or GPTBot), whether it worked, how long it took, how many search results came back, and which Verbex guide or template was opened. A count never includes what you entered, your search text, your conversation, your IP address or who you are. Counts are kept in PostHog, our analytics provider.
- Links in answers: links to Verbex pages in an assistant's answer carry a tag naming that assistant, so a visit that starts from an answer is counted as coming from it.
- Through an AI assistant: the assistant sends Verbex only the values for that one call. Verbex does not receive your conversation, your chat history, or who you are in that service. Your conversation is governed by your AI provider's own privacy policy.
- Hosting: like any website request, Vercel, our host, processes standard technical information (IP address, time and browser or client type) to deliver the response and may keep it briefly in its platform logs under the Vercel Privacy Notice. Verbex does not combine it with anything else.
- On the website: calculations run in your browser, and the reagent label scanner reads images on your device. Website analytics record that a tool was used, never what you typed.
Please do not enter patient information or other personal data into the tools. They do not need it.
App Store Subscriptions
Verbex subscriptions and free trials are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
Apple provides Verbex with the product and transaction status needed to confirm your access. Your experiments, voice notes, images, and exports are never included in this process. Apple handles purchase information according to its App Store & Privacy policy.
Lab Documentation Pack Purchases
The Lab Documentation Pack is free. To get it, you enter your email address and the download starts straight away; we do not email you. We keep your address, and whether you asked for updates, as a single record in PostHog, our analytics provider, under a random ID that is not linked to your browsing on this site. If you ticked the box for updates, we may occasionally email you about new Verbex lab tools; reply "stop" at any time and we will remove you. We do not sell or share your address or use it for anything else, and we delete it on request to support@verbalexperiment.com. The download link itself contains no personal information and works for 7 days.
Before October 2026 the pack was sold through Stripe Managed Payments, with Link acting as merchant of record. Stripe/Link processes checkout, tax, fraud prevention, transaction support, receipts, and refunds. It collects the contact, billing, and payment information needed to complete the transaction under the Link Privacy Policy and Stripe Privacy Policy.
Verbex can see purchase records made available in Stripe, including the customer contact information, purchased product, amount, payment status, and refund status. Verbex does not receive or store full card numbers.
After checkout, Stripe returns a purchase reference to the Verbex website. The website removes it from the visible address before analytics starts, keeps it only in the current browser history entry, and sends it directly to the Verbex download endpoint to ask Stripe whether the correct product was paid for. Verbex does not place that reference in analytics or retain a separate customer or download database.
Third-Party Services and Experiment Data
No third-party website, analytics, hosting, or payment service receives your Verbex experiment data. Experiment processing remains on-device. The services described above receive only the limited website or transaction information required for their stated purpose.
